Marie Ayotte
Marie Ayotte is a Montreal-based playwright, researcher and multidisciplinary artist whose work explores the notions of vulnerability, interaction and intimacy through ethical participatory theatre experiences. Influenced by drama therapy, she focuses on developing plays where the audience directly impacts the dramaturgy while respecting everyone’s limits. Many of her works use new formats of theatre diffusion, such as by phone, by chat or on the web.
She is also the artistic and general director of Théâtre Déchaînés. This theatre company specializes in accessible theatre for an audience that cannot travel to traditional venues or would benefit from specific accommodations to fully enjoy the theatrical experience.
